1. Gnome


GNOME 3 takes elegance to a new level. Every part has been carefully crafted to give it a harmonious, beautiful, look and to make it simple and easy-to-use.                                                                                  


 How to Install:
for ubuntu/debian

sudo apt-get install gnome-shell

or
fedora/opensuse

su yum install gnome-shell









2. KDE

3. LXDE
--------
Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment where each component can be used independently from other components of LXDE.

Popular distros that provide packages for LXDE are Fedora, Mandriva, Zenwalk, and Ubuntulite.

4. XFCE
--------
Fast and lightweight, yet visually appealing and easy to use environment. It uses the same toolkit as GNOME, and is sometimes described as a 'scaled-down version of GNOME'.

Xfce is the default environment in a number of popular Linux distributions, including Xubuntu, dyne:bolic, Gentoo, and Mythbuntu.
